Paint in BLACK

Trend ALERT for basement renovations

Homeowners are always asking Dyson Construction to help their low ceiling basements look bigger and not so cramped. Basement ceilings are an average height of 6’8″ to 8 ft and the height between floor joists are 9-10″. Taking out those drop ceilings can make a big difference.

Now, an exposed ceiling with black painted duct work, can make the room feel even taller. This is especially true if the ceiling is cleaned to perfection and exposed pipes and duct work are aesthetically pleasing.

You don’t have to expose the whole ceiling in a basement to maximize this effect! Consider a separate area such as a games room, work out room or laundry room to separate from the recreation room area with exposed ceiling and black exposed duct work.

Dyson Construction can give your basement an industrial look for a lot less than you may think! So, not only is it budget friendly, it is also trending and can act as an accent to standard full or partial renovations in a basement.

Our client and homeowner in Gore’s Landing recently requested this look to compliment their exposed brick in the fully finished basement. Our talent general contractors drywalled part of the ceiling complete with framing for bulkheads, and painted the ductwork with Home Depot’s Tremclad flat black paint, offering style to the basement remodel when combining exposed black duct work.
